6. Data Retention
We retain personal data only as long as necessary for the purposes outlined in this policy. Retention periods are subject to change based on legal requirements, business needs, and data protection best practices:
Active Accounts - Account and gameplay data is retained while your account remains active to provide continuous service. This includes all data necessary for account functionality, gameplay tracking, and community participation.
Inactive Accounts - Accounts that remain inactive (no login activity) for 24 consecutive months may be subject to deletion. We will attempt to notify you via email at least 30 days before deletion to give you an opportunity to reactivate your account. This retention period may be adjusted based on storage capacity, user base size, and regulatory requirements.
Deleted Accounts - Upon account deletion request, we will remove or anonymize personal data within 30 days. Some data may be retained longer when required for legal compliance, fraud prevention, dispute resolution, or legitimate business purposes, but only to the extent legally permissible and for the minimum period necessary.
Offline Job Data - As stated in our Game Rules, offline job deliveries that are not synchronized with our servers expire after 24 hours and are automatically deleted.
Backup Systems - Data stored in backup systems is retained according to our backup retention schedule (typically 30-90 days) and is automatically purged on a rolling basis. Backup data is used solely for disaster recovery purposes.
Legal and Regulatory Retention - We may retain certain data for longer periods when required or permitted by law, including but not limited to accounting and tax obligations (typically 7-10 years depending on jurisdiction), fraud prevention and security purposes (violation records, IP logs, investigation materials), dispute resolution and legal defense (until statute of limitations expires or dispute is resolved), or regulatory compliance requirements. Specific retention periods depend on applicable laws and the nature of the data.
Communications and Support - Support tickets, correspondence, and communications may be retained for customer service quality assurance, training purposes, and dispute resolution. Retention periods vary based on the nature of the communication and applicable legal requirements.
Anonymized Data - After deletion or anonymization, we may retain aggregated statistics that cannot identify you personally indefinitely for business analytics, research, and service improvement purposes.
Retention periods listed above are subject to review and may be adjusted based on legal developments, regulatory guidance, storage costs, technological capabilities, and business needs. We periodically review retention practices to ensure compliance with data minimization principles under Article 5(1)(e) GDPR.
7. Your Rights Under GDPR
You have the following rights regarding your personal data. The procedures for exercising these rights are subject to verification requirements and may be updated:
Right of Access (Article 15) - You can request confirmation of whether we process your personal data and obtain a copy of that data. We will provide this information in a commonly used electronic format (such as PDF, JSON, or CSV) within 30 days of your verified request. If your request is complex or voluminous, we may extend this period by an additional 60 days with notice.
Right to Rectification (Article 16) - You can request correction of inaccurate or incomplete personal data. You may update certain information directly through your account settings (such as email address, display name, password). For other data corrections, contact our Data Controller with the specific changes needed.
Right to Erasure / "Right to be Forgotten" (Article 17) - You can request deletion of your personal data when one of the following applies: the data is no longer necessary for the purposes collected, you withdraw consent (where processing is based on consent), you object to processing and there are no overriding legitimate grounds, the data has been unlawfully processed, deletion is required for compliance with legal obligations, or the data was collected from a child. You may deactivate your account through the platform settings or contact us directly. We will delete your data within 30 days unless we have a legal obligation, legitimate interest, or need to establish, exercise, or defend legal claims that requires retention.
Right to Restriction of Processing (Article 18) - You can request that we limit processing of your data in certain circumstances: when you contest data accuracy (during verification), when processing is unlawful but you don't want deletion, when we no longer need the data but you need it for legal claims, or when you've objected to processing (pending verification of legitimate grounds). During restriction, we will only store the data and process it with your consent or for legal claims.
Right to Data Portability (Article 20) - You can receive your personal data in a structured, commonly used, machine-readable format (such as JSON, CSV, or XML) and request transmission to another controller where technically feasible. This right applies when processing is based on consent or contract and is carried out by automated means.
Right to Object (Article 21) - You can object to processing based on legitimate interests or for direct marketing purposes at any time. For legitimate interest processing, we will cease processing unless we demonstrate compelling legitimate grounds that override your interests, rights, and freedoms, or we need the data for establishment, exercise, or defense of legal claims. For direct marketing, we will cease processing immediately upon objection.
Right to Withdraw Consent (Article 7(3)) - Where processing is based on consent, you can withdraw it at any time through your account settings or by contacting us. Withdrawal does not affect the lawfulness of processing before withdrawal. After withdrawal, we will cease processing data for that purpose unless we have another legal basis.
Right Not to Be Subject to Automated Decision-Making (Article 22) - We do not engage in automated decision-making, including profiling, that produces legal effects or similarly significantly affects you without human intervention.
Right to Lodge a Complaint (Article 77) - If you believe we've violated your data protection rights, you can lodge a complaint with your supervisory authority (data protection authority in your EU member state). Contact information for EU supervisory authorities is available at https://edpb.europa.eu/about-edpb/board/members_en.
Exercising Your Rights - To exercise these rights, contact our Data Controller through the official channels listed on our website. You must provide sufficient information to verify your identity (we may request additional verification to prevent unauthorized access). We will respond within 30 days, or 60 days for complex requests. The first request is free; we may charge a reasonable administrative fee for excessive, repetitive, or manifestly unfounded requests under Article 12(5) GDPR.
The procedures, timelines, and verification requirements for exercising these rights are subject to change to enhance security, streamline processes, or comply with regulatory guidance.
